Katy was found as a stray and her finders were unable to locate her owner. They attempted to find her a new home, but then realized that Katy was pregnant and reached out to GRRNT for help.

10/17/18 Miss Katy had 8 puppies today!
Pupdate on the Howl-o-ween Litter 🎃: We actually have an equal number of boys and girls -- 4 each -- which was discovered after doing a final gender check ✅ They have all been named; the girls are Goblin, Boo (white w/2 spots), Salem and Hocus. The boys are Pocus, Frankenstein (Frankie), Spooky (white w/black spot on head) and Ghost (solid white). They will be available for adoption sometime in January so get your applications in at goldenretrievers.org/adoption-application.

Pocus and his siblings should be ready for adoption in early January, but you can meet them at their foster home with an approved application.

Pocus’ mother, Katy, came to GRRNT after a good samaritan found her wandering around and tried to find her owner, but was unsuccessful. So, they turned her into GRRNT. Pocus and his siblings were born during the night of October 17th.

Pocus is currently 7 weeks old (on Dec 5th) and is a big, handsome boy. He is the biggest puppy but doesn’t really use it against his siblings. He is a pretty laid back guy, who likes to play but loves belly rubs.

Pocus was born brown, with a white “collar” that goes all the way around his neck. His overall color has smoothes out into a beautiful brown, also a white tip on his tail and a white belly. He is getting fuzzy and has a face foster mom can’t resist!

Pocus needs another dog in his home to learn from and play with. But he is not a candidate for a home with a senior dog. He plays with his littermates so much he would likely be very lonely without another dog looking for a friend.

Puppies need to be safe when they are outside playing, so a fenced yard and supervision is a must. Pocus must also have someone home with him or be taken to work with you daily. He is too young to be left alone for a full work day, even if you can be home for lunch. That’s too much alone time.

Pocus is a typical puppy who puts everything in his mouth, and uses his teeth on everything in his environment, including your shoes, toes, hands and clothing. We are working with him to learn that this behavior is unacceptable, but he is still young and it is a process.

He is not house trained yet -- after all, he is just 7 weeks old -- but he is doing a great job going potty when we take him outside.

Pocus is a sweet boy and while he is not the most energetic dog, he plays well and cuddles well, but would benefit from some good training and socialization to become his best.

He is looking for a forever family that will love on him and play with him. Are you ready?
