Sweet little Easter was found a stray by animal control. She was quite obviously very pregnant, and the shelter was no place for a mama dog about to give birth, but she was located in Midland - a long way from GRRNT! GRRNT reached out to friends other rescues out in that area, and found a village! Easter was picked up by a local foster person in Midland, and fostered in their home. We planned to bring her to DFW quickly, but she had other ideas! The morning the transport volunteer, another rescue hero, was supposed to take her to meet the GRRNT transport driver in Abilene, Easter delivered 10 puppies!
We are so immensely thankful to the volunteers in Midland who stepped up to help Easter get out of the shelter, deliver her puppies, and ultimately drive them to the GRRNT volunteer so she could get to her foster home in DFW. Wonderful, caring people made this little girl’s story a true miracle!
Easter and her 10 puppies will be loved on and protected while we watch them grow. Watch for updates on them along the way, and when they are old enough to be adopted. They will be ready some time in May. Easter will be ready for adoption about that same time too.
