Friona was found as a stray and her owners could not be located. She is brand new to GRRNT and we will have more information about her soon.

9/28/2016

Over the last few months Friona's health has declined slowly. Sadly, she took a turn for the worse in the last few days, and we had to say a tearful goodbye to this beautiful girl today. We give our most sincere thanks to Friona's foster family for providing her with love and the very best care in the last year. Thanks to them we know that Friona was happy and loved until the very end.

Friona is doing really well. She is down 3 pounds. Her thyroid was a little elevated so her vet is adjusting her medication and will continue to monitor her levels until they are stable. As she continues to lose weight she will be more comfortable and move around easier. Friona's favorite person happens to be the only non-dog lover in the family, but she is such a sweet thing even he is smitten with her.

Sweet Friona had some tumors removed, and the lab results were not what we hoped for. The tumors are malignant mammary masses, and they are the type that have a very high probability they will return. Due to this prognosis GRRNT has placed Friona in our Permanent Foster program. All her needs will be met for the rest of her life in wonderful loving permanent foster home.
