Gordon is a 5-year-old fella who found himself homeless due to a death in the family. His family hasn’t been able to provide routine wellness care but did give him lots of love. Gordon is a dog who has known nothing but love and adoration. He is very accustomed to his people being willing belly rub providers. He expects his new family to do the same.

Gordon is house trained and reliable in a house alone. He would be fine with a family that worked away from home as long as he had a mid-day potty break. He has not been crated in his foster home as it has not been needed. Gordon would enjoy going on family road trips and being a travel companion. He does not enjoy being boarded at a kennel and would do best with an in-home care provider or going with his people.

Gordon is working on leash training and doing pretty well. He will usually jump into the car and rides very well once he’s in the day. Gordon is very food motivated. He will play with balls and toys at times but is mostly interested in treats he can eat.

Gordon is fine with other dogs in the home but does not need them. He is not interested in being a playmate to another dog, he just loves his people. He ignores the dogs in his foster home unless they are between him and pets or food. For high value rewards, he can squeeze his way through the park to be up front and center. He was recently introduced to some friend’s cats, and made it clear he really shouldn’t live with any kitties.

Gordon’s ideal home is quiet and has plenty of time to focus on him. He would not enjoy the noise and bustle that young kids bring. He would be fine with older kids that are doing their own thing and don’t need parents around for sports practices.

Gordon is a low energy dog and not suitable to a family looking for a running or hiking companion. Slow walks and car rides are his jam. He loves to curl up on the couch and watch TV. We know he will thrive in his forever home. Whoever gets to be his family has won the Golden Lottery. His gentle and loving spirit shine through whenever you are around him.
