7/26/2021 Sweet little Kai has had some concerning lab results since her surgery. During the surgery the vet’s noticed her kidneys were not configured normally. Now with the lab results coming back with poor kidney function levels it has been confirmed Kai is in kidney failure. This is something she was born with; it has nothing to do with her surgery. Thankfully she doesn't seem to notice. Kai has been placed in our permanent foster program, and will stay with her foster family for the remainder of her life. We sincerely thank them for loving her and making her part of their family.

7/2/2021 - Kai had her surgery at A&M today. It went very well. She will need several weeks for recovery, and once she is all healed up we will know if the surgery resolved the leaking.

Kai was surrendered to GRRNT after it was discovered she has an ectopic ureter, which causes her to leak urine. She will need surgery at A&M to repair the defect, and we are hopeful that will resolve the problem.

Kai’s appointment is at the end of June. We will update after her surgery.
