PROFILE

Marfa is an old girl that was found wandering around a neighborhood. She had been hanging out for several weeks when she wandered up to the home of a kindly family. They offered food and water so she hung around. They posted ads online try to find her owner but no one came forward so they called GRRNT.

Marfa has a spunky personality and we're looking forward to getting to know her while she heals up in our care. Her left front leg and elbow are swollen and our Vets are looking into the problem and how to solve it. She came in flea infested with a very matted and muddy coat that was covered with burrs. She's cleaned up now and looking much better. We'll get more tests run and then see about finding her a wonderful forever home with a nice soft bed of her own.

September 3, 2014

After running tests on Marfa, our vets determined that she had Hemangiosarcoma in her leg that spread all the way into her shoulder. This terrible cancer claims many Goldens each year and we are sad to report that Marfa succumbed to the disease today. We are sad that we did not get to know her better and glad that we were able to get her off the streets, even if only for a little while.
