Oliver was originally adopted from GRRNT in 2013, and was returned to GRRNT's care recently due to a change in circumstances. Oliver is settling into his foster home, and we will post more about him after his foster family gets to know him better.

PERMANENT FOSTER - NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Oliver Is the most lovely gentleman and quiet as they come.  He has been at his foster’s home for over a week and she has yet to hear a peep out of him!  He is completely housebroken, knows his basic commands, walks well on a leash and is very food-motivated.  He will do anything for a treat and does not hesitate to take them quickly from you, so we are working on better treat-taking manners.

Ollie enjoys hanging out with his foster mom’s pack of two Goldens and a Pyr mix, but he is really fine all by himself.  He does not really engage in play with the other dogs; he just likes to be around them.  The only thing that interests him more than treats are small animals — he will see a squirrel in the yard and take off like a young pup!  Because of his intense interest in hunting small animals, Ollie cannot be in a home with cats or other small creatures like guinea pigs, or rabbits, etc.  He has been around small dogs and pays them no mind.

Ollie has a lovely blonde coat and is always looking for you to stroke it.  He will give you a gentle nudge if it’s been too long between pets.  He is just a sweet, sweet boy and is looking for a forever home where he can live out the rest of his days being loved on and appreciated for the good boy that he is.  He will probably do best with an older couple or single person — another dog is fine in the house, too.

UPDATE

7/18/2017 Oliver has continued to have skin issues and repeated infections, so GRRNT vets did some further testing and unfortunately tests results show Oliver has lymphoma. He is a happy, active, boy, and he doesn't know he is supposed to be sick. His foster family has graciously offered to be his permanent foster home and Oliver will receive all the care and love he needs for the rest of his life.

6/20/2017 Oliver is showing some signs of allergies, so he will see the allergy specialist to find out how to best treat his issues.

5/29/2017 Oliver has a bit of a skin infection on his chin, so he is taking antibiotics and will be ready for adoption soon.
